Roast Bar

*Shortlisted 2020

Situated within the heart of the historic Borough Market, the Roast Bar designed by LDS is an addition to the long-standing, thoroughly British restaurant – Roast.

Just above the Grade II listed market, designed & completed by Sir Robert Smirke in 1832, visitors are encouraged to luxuriate in the relaxed ambience of the Bar, offering a tranquil space away from the bustle below.

The environment, with full height glazing to two sides, carefully & sympathetically utilizes a fresh palette of green, white & copper tones that work with the existing colours & patterns within the historic market. An elongated, soft banquette seat with curved snug corner, creates a viewing window to the outside world, and the white Carrara marble with oak herringbone floor, evokes a classic, warm luxury that visitors globally would recognise.

Lerose Design Studio encompassed an element of project management for this project, and it was delivered on time and on budget, meeting the challenging restraints in these areas.
